Will Beights is a glassblower based in St. Petersburg, working in time-honored Venetian techniques to create functional and decorative handblown glass.
He discovered glassblowing at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, where he majored in glass under Jack Wax. He continued his education at leading institutions including Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Pittsburgh Glass Center, studying with artists such as James Mongrain, Katherine Gray, Claire Kelly, and Anthony Schafermeyer.
After earning his BFA in Glass, he worked as an assistant to master glassblower Michael Schunke, an experience that shaped his technical foundation and discipline in the studio. He has also worked in a cooperative studio with fellow glassblowers Minh Martin, Neil Duman, and Phillip Nolley, further refining his approach to form and process.
In 2025, he established his own studio in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he continues to develop a body of work rooted in Venetian techniques refined over centuries—grounded in precision, repetition, and a deep respect for the material.
When he’s not in the studio, he is raising a family with his wife and best friend, Hannah. The life they’ve built together with their three sons, Anu, Hawk, and Wren, remains a constant source of inspiration behind his work.
